Where's your Royal Mail addon for vpasp? I thought you had one but I can't find it
ID: 1396 Category: BYZ Software Pre Sales Questions Status: Resolved Views: 1313

Question:
I've seen vpasp forum postings and other urls which mention that you have a Royal Mail addon for vpasp, but I can't find it anywhere. Do you still have it?

Solution:
We did create a Royal Mail addon for vpasp (BYZ019) a few years ago, but we no longer support/maintain it.

The reason we've flagged it as hidden/obsolete on our site (and on our bigyellowkey.com software distribution site) is because the demand for it was very small, and when Royal Mail changed their price structures to use dimensions instead of just weight/service, it became too complex/costly to maintain/change.

We do still have the code for it, but it doesn't have the dimensions logic in it that the Royal Mail introduced, and the prices in it are now out of date.

The services that byz019 has are as follows, each service has configurable price/weight ranges, and you can enable/disable any of these services, but they have no dimensions logic:
1st Class
Standard Parcels
SurfaceMail (Letters)
SurfaceMail (Packets)
SurfaceMail (Papers)
AirMail (Letters)
AirMail (Packets)
AirMail (Papers)
AirMail (Letters) With AirSure
AirMail (Packets) With AirSure
AirMail (Papers) With AirSure

We don't officially support it, and it's been mothballed, but if you think that it might be useful to you despite the lack of dimension logic and the out of date price/weight logic/settings, then please contact us explaining your situation and we'll organise/agree with you a way to get you a licensed copy of it.

If you'd like it to be updated to include dimensions and new price settings then we'd only be able to do that as a normal hourly-rate development job. If that did happen, we'd agree with you before payment the "sponsorship" aspect of it (ie we'd agree with you before we started whether or not we'd release it as an active addon again afterwards with you taking a split of the income of units sold etc)
